Skin Allergies & Fuller 86 Laundry Detergent
Fuller 86 is a perfume & dye free laundry detergent. I personally use this as my son and I are both very sensitive to laundry products with perfumes and dyes. Fuller 86 is one of only 2 products I've found so far that doesn't irritate our skin after use. Even though the instructions say to use 1 - 1/2 ounces per load, I have found that 1 oz per load works fine.
Recently, I picked up an empty jug from a relative who had purchased the name
brand perfume & dye free product. This product was the other one I had used in the past. What I did was checked how much they recommend using of their product per load. Filling the cap the the indicated line took 4 oz of liquid. Their product sells for $9.49 for a 200 oz jug here in my part of CA. That works out to 50 loads or a cost of 19¢ per load. Fuller 86 is currently on sale for $19.99 for a 129 oz jug, since I use 1 oz per load that works out to 15.5¢ per load. So Fuller products really aren't more expensive.
In addition, I have used Fuller 86 full strength on a dried berry juice stain on a white golf shirt, it completely removed the stain. I also made my own pre-laundry stain spray by taking an old 32 oz spray bottle and putting 6oz of Fuller 86 in it, then filling it with warm water. It works just as well, if not better, as the store bought sprays at a cost of 78¢ per bottle vs $2.99 for the store bought brand.
